Roadmap

For the near future we have the following plans to improve the openOBD project.

Upcoming

DoIP

Currently, one part of our development team is working an DoIP support. When we have a general way of addressing DoIP we will add this as well to the stack.

User interface translations

We want to add the possibility to provide your openOBD sessions with a predefined set of translation labels in order to provide the end user with the right language.

Passed events

December 2025

K-line ISO14230 (version 1.17.3 and higher)

We do now support K-Line ISO14230 with both slow and fast initialization. The infrastructure supports this communication protocol. Check out the code examples and gRPC definitions on how to use it.

Automechanika 2024

We were present at the Automechanika 2024 were we presented our first version of openOBD to the audience. The first version supports CAN communication, user interface interaction and connection health monitoring.
